We're pleased to announce that we've made it through Stage 1 of the Community Spaces funding application for a MUGA in the park. The committee will be meeting with a representative from Community Spaces soon and we will be completing the Stage 2 application. Getting through Stage 1 isn't a guarantee that we'll get the funding but it's certainly a positive sign.

September 2008
We're thrilled to announce that we've just been awarded £9,100 from the Big Lottery Breathing Spaces fund. This fund will deliver a bird box project. It will work with all the local schools, teaching young people about the sorts of birds that you are likely to find in a park, it will teach them the right habitats for each bird and create a designer bird house.
August 2008
Unfortunately, we have not had good news with the £1.6m funding bid to the Big Lottery, Parks for People award scheme. The funding was not granted but the council was given the opportunity to resubmit. A reworked application was submitted on 30th September and we will find out if it is successful early in 2009.
In the meantime Hyndburn Borough Council has pledged to put some money in their capital programme for 2009 to resurface the paths and to repair drainage.
